VOBK 2020 postponed to 17-18 April 2021

UPDATE: The VOBK 2020 will be postponed to 17-18 April 2021. The set works will remain the same, as well as the memers of the jury.

The gala concert “Brass Band Hombeek 125” will be postponed to 30 January 2021.

The Flemish Open Brass Band organisers are announcing that the 2020 Flemish Open Brass Band Championship (VOBK) scheduled to be held at the Mechelen City Theatre on 18 an 19 April 2020, will be cancelled due to the current Coronavirus pandemic.

We are very sorry about this, but in the light of the current COVID-19 developments and several restrictions put in place by national governments, the championship cannot go ahead as planned. Bands cannot rehearse at the moment and the Belgian federal government crisis measures in place since yesterday evening (link), might be prolonged or strengthened. We just don’t know.

Participation fees of participating brass bands will be refunded or can be made valid as registration fee for next year’s event when that is confirmed.

Audience ticket buyers for the 2020 VOBK will get a refund.
