VOBK 2024 - Vlaams Open Brassband Kampioenschap
RoGa Percussion CU Brass Besson Lemca Mechelen

About

The championship was organised by Brass Band Hombeek for the 8th time in 2022. The first organisation was in 2005 on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Brass Band Hombeek. The original idea came from Michel Leveugle, former conductor and president of Brass Band Hombeek.

Of course, all big Belgian brass band names took part in the contest, but also several foreign bands from Netherlands, Germany, France, UK and Switzerland.

The concept of having only a short set piece to be complemented with a fully free to choose programme and a generous time limit, makes competing at the VOBK a very accessible high quality experience.

When organising the VOBK, Brass Band Hombeek can count on a close partnership with the city of Mechelen, guaranteeing a smooth logistical organisation.
